THE CERTIFICATE AND DEGREE PROGRAM OF EMMANUEL BAPTIST UNIVERSITY, EMMANUEL SCHOOL OF RELIGION, EMMANUEL BIBLE COLLEGE, EMMANUEL BAPTIST COLLEGE, AND EMMANUEL BAPTIST SEMINARY ONE YEAR STUDY This one year prograrn for a CERTIFICATE IN THEOLOGY, a CERTIFICATE IN BIBLICAL STUDIES, or a CERTIFICATh IN RELIGIOUS EDUCATION, is designed to meet the needs of those who are planning to further their religious education in various fields of endeavor. These require 32 semester hours of approved course work. TWO YEARS STUDY This two year program for an ASSOCIATE OF ARTS IN THEOLOGY, an ASSOCIATE OF ARTS IN RELIGIOUS EDUCATION, or an ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE IN BIBLICAL STUDIES, is not only designed for those who are planning to further their religious education in various fields of endeavor, but are for persons involved in youth ministries, campus organizations, persons desiring to be better instructed witnesses, and young men who have felt the call of God to preach. The ASSOCIATE OF ARTS IN THEOLOGY, requires a CERTIFICATE IN THEOLOGY, plus 32 semester hours of approved courses, for a total of 64 semester hours. The ASSOCIATE OF ARTS IN RELIGlOUS EDUCATION, requires a CERTIFICATE IN RELIGIOUS EDUCATION, plus 32 semester hours, for a total of 64 semester hours. THREE YEARS STUDY The course of study leading to the GRADUATE DEGREES is designed for individuals desiring Theological and Biblical instruction beyond the Associate level. The Graduate program builds upon the foundation begun in the Associate Degree programs by providing 32 additional semester hours of instruction. These additional hours of instruction will help sharpen an individual's perception of God's Truth by exploring the history of the church, other related subjects, and the Bible itself.The GRADUATE OF THEOLOGY degree, requires and ASSOCIATE OF THEOLOGY degree, plus 32 semester hours, for a total of 96 semester hours. The GRADUATE IN BIBLICAL STUDIES, requires an ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE IN BIBLICAL STUDIES degree, plus 32 semester hours, for a total of 96 semester hours. FOUR YEARS STUDY The BACHELOR DEGREE program is a four year course of study designed for individuals desiring to enter, or already in, a leadership role of a Bible-oriented ministry. Students in the BACHELOR DEGREE program are Religion Majors, Theology Majors, Bible Majors, Christian Education Majors, and Counseling Majors. The instruction they receive is intended to both deepen their knowledge in God's Word, and develop their Spiritual gifts. The BACHELORS DEGREE, requires a GRADUATE DEGREE in their field, plus 32 semester hours, for a total of 128 semester hours. The BACHELOR DEGREE program also requires a 5,000 word thesis, as directed by the instructor. FIVE YEARS STUDY The MASTERS DEGREE program requires that the candidate hold a BACHELOR DEGREE, and complete an approved course of 32 semester hours, for a total of 160 semester hours. A 12,000 word thesis will be completed for the MASTERS DEGREE. SIX YEARS STUDY The DOCTORAL DEGREE program is a professional degree for the advanced student of MINISTRY,THEOLOGY, BIBLICAL STUDIES, SACRED THEOLOGY,CHRlSTIAN EDUCATION, RELIGIOUS EDUCATION, PHILOSOPHY IN RELIGION, PHILOSOPHY IN BIBLICAL STUDIES, AND PHILOSOPHY IN CHRISTIAN EDUCATION. The requirement for a DOCTORATE DEGREE, is a MASTERS DEGREE in a related field, plus 32 semester hours, for a total of 192 semester hours. A 20,000 word thesis is required, relating to the field of MINISTRY, which requires no thesis. THE LENGTH OF THE THESIS FOR EACH DEGREE MAY BE CHANGED BY THE PRESIDENT OF EMMANUEL AT HIS DISCRETION, DEPENDING ON CIRCUMSTANCE AND LIFE EXPERIENCE. |
