Format of Russian Polish Marriage Records

		                 Marriage Record

1 Remenkin   It happened in Vigry the twelfth/twenty-fifth/ of July

2 the one thousand eight hundred eightieth year at three o'clock

3 after noon (that) we declare in the presence of the witnesses:

4 Vikentii Bobrovskii, a landlord from the village Remenkin, age

5 twenty-five, and likewise Vikentii Kovalevskii, a landlord from the village

6 Slupe, age forty, (that) a religious marriage union was concluded

7 between Yakov Moroz (Jacob Moroz), age forty-three, widower

8 after the late Frantsishka nee Bobrovskaya, a laborer

9 residing in the village Remenkin and born in the same village,

10 the son of the late Idzi and Antonina, nee Matseyevskaya, Moroz;

11 and Frantsishka Trotskaya, (Franciszka Trocka)

12 a maiden, age thirty-eight, daughter of the late

13 Romual'd and Iosifata, nee Vasilevskaya, Trotskii,

14 born in the village Chervony Krzhizh and residing in the same village.

15 This marriage was proceded by only three announcements published in the

16 Vigry church:the first on the twenty-ninth of June/the eleventh of July/;

17 the second on the sixth/eighteenth/ of July; the third on the thirteenth

18 /twenty-fifth/ of July of the current year. This marriage was

19 performed by the priest Voitekh Ol'shevskii, dean. The newly

20 married couple declared that they had not concluded any (previous) marriage contract. This record

21 was read to the newly married couple and the witnesses, all illeterate,

22 and then signed by us.
