- If you need to find a particular town in Poland or elsewhere and you do not know the exact spelling, the Jewish Gen Shtetl Seeker uses a soundex system to locate the town. I used this system to locate the town my Grandfather said he was from, but the Naturalization person spelled it as it sounded.

- Another good town locator can be found here, but you need the town name. The maps can be more detailed than the Shtetl Seeker maps.

- Finding aid to Polish Genealogical Research at the Connecticut State Library. You can't borrow the books, but it is one of the most comprehensive lists of books available.

- The place to start to find records of the Immigration and Naturalization Service, 1891--1957, various ships and passanger lists, and other general Genealogical information.
